Wounded Warrior Care Network is a national health system that includes PTSD treatment centers that provide care to veterans and their families. It was created by the Wounded Warrior Project, which is a non-profit charity program for veterans. The Wounded Warrior Project was started in 2003 by John Melia. John Melia has previously been injured in a helicopter crash while serving in Somalia in 1992. The company is based in Jacksonville, Florida. The CEO is Michael S. Linnington. The Board Chair is Anthony Odierno. The organization has over 70,000 alumni and 11,000 registered members. The Care Network provides care, travel, and accommodations for veterans and their families. It consists of an intensive outpatient and traumatic brain injury program. The program is at no cost to veterans and families. The treatment centers are in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Boston, and Chicago.
Funding for the program is provided by Wounded Warrior Project. The funds are from donations provided by individuals across the United States. The funds go towards efforts for Mental and Physical Wellness, Career & VA Benefits Counseling, Personal Independence, Healthcare, and Housing. There are several ways you can help. You could host a fundraiser or 5k run, become a student ambassador, participate in Soldier Ride New York (Community Rides) and donate to the cause. You can choose to donate as a one-time donation, monthly (to be deducted from your payment method on a recurring basis), or donate during the holidays only. Additionally, you can host employee giving, accepting donations from your co-workers. Your company can also provide a company sponsorship for the organization.
