Great Call is a health and technology service company based in San Diego, California. The company was founded by Arlene Harris in 2006 with the goal of providing accessible technology and various services to aging adults. The primary initial product for Great Call was the Jitterbug cell phone for senior adults, with the Urgent Care feature to provide telephone access to doctors and nurses being added in 2009 and medication management and personal emergency alert and response applications added in 2011. Great Call offers cellular phone plans for seniors that include a 200 minutes plan for $14.99 per month, a 600-minute plan for $19.99 per month, 1500 minutes for $29.99 per month, 3000 minutes for $39.99 per month, and unlimited talk and text plan for $49.99 per month. Text messages and data plans can be added to the cellular plans for an additional monthly fee. Additional health and safety services can also be added to your cell phone plan for $19.99, $24.99, or $34.99 depending on which services you wish to include with your plan such as the personal emergency alert, telephone doctor and nurse access, medication management, or other services. Medical alert devices are also available from Great Call, as either a standalone service or an add-on to cellular services. All Great Call plans can be cancelled at any time since the plans do not have a minimum commitment term, and the devices are yours to keep since you purchase them outright when signing up with Great Call.
