Comenity Bank is based in Columbus, OH and was founded in 1989. Comenity has more than 50 million cardholders through their partnerships with various retailers to offer store-based credit cards to the customers of those retailers. Comenity offers store-based cards for many retailers including Barney’s New York, Blair, Big Lots, J. Crew, PacSun, Palais Royal, Victoria’s Secret, Wayfair, Ulta, and Zales. In addition, Comenity offers medical expense credit cards, Education credit cards, Airline and Hotel credit cards, and a few other uncategorized cards under multiple brand names but all backed by Comenity Bank. Finally, Comenity offers two different major credit cards. These may have store logos on the card and rewards associated with the purchases a cardholder makes at the store, but can be used anywhere a major credit card can be used. One of these cards is the wholesale warehouse store BJ’s branded MasterCard and the other is a gas purchase rewards card branded by Marathon Oil. Several of the store cards offered through Comenity offer rewards programs, including some that offer up to 10-20% cash back on purchases made with the card. Comenity cards have various fees and interest rates associated with the card which are dependent on which card you have with Comenity. All cards can be cancelled at any point desired by the cardholder but the balance will usually need to be paid off completely before the card can be cancelled. Follow these steps:

1. First, locate the customer service telephone for your card on the back of the card itself.
2. Contact customer service at the number you located
3. Advise the rep that you need to cancel
4. Give the rep your account info
5. Be sure to get a confirmation number or email for the cancellation
6. Be sure to keep the email and/or confirmation info about the cancellation
