A home warranty is a service that secures the devices and appliances in your household. It is beneficial to have to ensure that if something is broken that you can easily get it repaired or replaced. In comparison to the manufacturer’s warranty, a home warranty covers multiple devices under one combined plan. There are four basic plans offered under American Home Shield. With the Systems Plan, your major home systems will be covered. This covers your air conditioning (with ductwork), heating (with ductwork), electrical, doorbells, smoke detectors, ceiling fans, pumping, water heaters, garbage disposals, instant h/c water dispensers, and central vacuums. The Appliances Plan covers appliances. This includes refrigerators, ranges/ovens/cooktops, washers, dryers, dishwashers, built-in microwaves, trash compactors, freestanding ice maker machines, garage door openers, and built-in food centers. The Combo Plan includes coverage for both systems and appliances. You can also choose the Build Your Own Plan, allowing you to choose the appliances and/or systems that you would like covered under the warranty. Prices vary depending on your dwelling, location, and coverage needs.
Filing a claim is simple. You can request service online. You can also call American Home Shield to speak with a live representative to request service. A technician will be assigned to your request within 24 hours. All technicians are qualified contractors from your local area. The contractors are evaluated to ensure that they can meet the standards of customers. There may be an option to choose your own contractor, depending on your service location.
